The different heights make no sense either – if you are going to do that, it needs to be balanced.
I would have had the same size wall cabinets on either side of the window for symmetry. Sommer, the layout is terrible! There are so many things I wish you had done differently! Why are the double wall ovens so close to the sink? They should have gone across the room and you should have more counter to the right of your sink (it looks like barely 12″!). I hope someone at the company reads this. They even sent their own rep to our house with the Lowes sales associate to see the condition of the cabinets first hand.ĭo NOT, I repeat, do NOT buy Shenandoah cabinets.
The worst part is that Shenandoah fought with us and did not give us 1 penny back for the overpriced cabinets we bought from them. How I WISH I had read reviews before proceeding with our purchase. Instead, we are stuck looking at cheap flawed garbage cabinets everytime we walk into our kitchen. To our surprise, those 3 cabinets were pristine! Not one single flaw! This infuriated us because we could have easily bought these cheaper stock cabinets for our kitchen remodel, spent half of what we spent on the Shenandoah, and had beautiful perfect looking cabinets in our new house. We had gone to Lowes to buy the cheap stock white shaker cabinets that are in stock on the shelf for our laundry room. The replacements came in and every one of those were also flawed. Lowes was trying to help us and had ordered some replacement doors and side panels for us. Chips, divets, scratches, parts not painted properly, raw edges, etc. When the cabinets arrived, EVERY SINGLE piece was flawed. We saw the Shenandoah white shaker sample cabinet at Lowe’s and the rep told us it was a pretty good cabinet, not the lowest grade option. I had to really persuade my husband as it was a big expense, over $8000. We decided to replace the cabinets in our new house this past year as opposed to refinishing the existing cabinets.
